Alpnach is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. It has a population of about 5100, of which 600 are non-Swiss (as of 2000).
There are 300 local businesses which employ 1,800 people. 16% of these are in the agricultural sector, 42% in trade and industry, and 42% in services.
The main sights of Alpnach include the world's steepest rack railway to the mountain Pilatus, a Roman mansion, and a hand-operated print shop.
