Alphonse "Funzi" D'Ambrosio was a New York mobster who was a hitman for the Colombo crime family during the time of Joey Gallo.
D'Ambrosio supported mob rebel Victor Orena during his war with Colombo boss Carmine Persico. Persico capo Gregory Scarpa Sr. targeted D'Ambrosio for execution in 1993, but was unable to complete the job. D'Ambrosio's brother Salvatore "Sally" D'Ambrosio took part in the attempted murder of mobster Larry Gallo in a New York City bar.
