Alpha Telescopii is a blue-white B-type subgiant with an apparent magnitude of +3.49. It is approximately 249 light years from Earth. The quality of the mensurations of its position converts it in advisable to use like reference in astrometrics applications and the data of the Tycho Catalog points out it as possible intrinsic variable, not still verified.
