Alph River

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alph River (78°12′S, 163°45′E) is a river of Antarctica which was named by Griffith Taylor of the Nimrod Expedition of 1911-13. The name is from the opening passage in Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem, Kubla Khan, published in 1816. The nearby Xanadu Hills are named from the same poem.
