I like what I'm seeing on your user page (The Steenrod operations article). Do you plan to add more to it before posting it? It already looks worthy to me. Also, I've been wondering if you know when we will finally be able to make diagrams in wikipedia. It would be nice if we could standardize on a diagramming package on wikipedia so that the diagrams have a consistent look. My vote is for something at least as powerful as the xymatrix feature in XY-Pic. - Gauge 22:49, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I think it is about ready as well, just want to proofread (I get really confused about some of these equations, want to make sure I don't lie). There are many pages about with TeX-y looking commutative diagrams, but I don't know how to do this for Wikipedia. I use XY-Pic as well, something like that would be great... but I don't know how far away that might be. Dave Rosoff 08:30, May 13, 2005 (UTC)
Hi, you seem to be new around here -- welcome aboard. Since you're going to have to drop out of school for Wikipedia anyhow, you'll have lots of spare time, so may I prevail on you to spend a little more time on the new technical articles you create? It would help everyone if you would follow the suggested format of (in the first paragraph and in words the ordinary person at the mall can understand) defining the term, specifying what field(s) of knowledge it belongs to, and explaining briefly why it matters enough to be in an encyclopedia. (And when you run across one of the many existing articles that lacks this info, would you please edit it in?) And don't be afraid to edit math articles mercilessly -- lots of people here speak math, but they don't all explain it in English as well, and folks who don't speak math can't edit the math articles very well. -- isis 09:56 Nov 8, 2002 (UTC)
Hi there, and welcome. Hope you'll have as much fun here as the rest of us. You might be interested in List of mathematical topics; if you go there and click on "Watch links" in the sidebar, you'll see the recent changes in math articles. Cheers, AxelBoldt
Suggestions noted: thank you both. -- alodyne
Yet another welcome, Alodyne :) . Since you seem to have an interest in the mathematics articles, I wanted to call to your attention the WikiProject we're developing at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics, which attempts to provide some standards and goals for math articles. [edit] Regarding your copyedit flag for Forward Castes article
Refer copyedit flag inserted by you in Forward Castes article. I have made few changes like spellcheck, subsequent words capitalisations, grammar check etc. Can you review and offer further suggestions in Talk page. If you are satisfied you can remove copyedit flage
I have seen your edits to change tone of Forward Caste article. It is good and improving. As suggested you can proceed with copy editing of full article. I will then modify if meaning of some sentences changed. Thanks for your assistance.--Lravikumar 02:19, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey Alodyne, I am writing you to let you know that the Mathematics Collaboration of the week(soon to "of the month") is getting an overhaul of sorts and I would encourage you to participate in whatever way you can, i.e. nominate an article, contribute to an article, or sign up to be part of the project. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks--Cronholm144 20:56, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
