[edit] Apparent contradiction in the article.

The top says "The movie is a direct sequel to the last installment of the game series, but contains plot elements that directly contradict it, thus whether it's considered canonical is debatable" while the Trivia section says "The film is credited as being "based upon the video game Alone In the Dark", though it has nothing in common with the original 1992 Infogrames title save the name of Christian Slater's character." Yes, Nightwish's I Wish I Had An Angel was used to market the film and they even made a video using fooatge from the film (though I've only seen it once). However, I'm not convinced it was composed specifically for the movie, more likely Nuclear Blast attached it as apart of a deal with Boll (Hannu M, not signed)

the plot section needs to be cut down. It should not be a scene by scene ("cut to...") retelling of the plot.

It also shouldn't be ad copy straight from the film's producers. Can someone who's watched the movie give us something a little more honest and Wikipedia-appropriate? 159.53.46.141 22:18, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't think it does. It doesn't say anywhere in the article for the original video game where the title stems from, but it's a common enough phrase to be just coincidence. Martin (talk) 13:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Soundtrack information too excessive and other concerns

I Just edited the main article. Apart from the small edits in language and readability, I'd like to justify the major changes:

As per Wikipedia's guidelines i removed the Trivia-part and incorporated relevant information in other parts of the article. Moved the opening weekend gross to the preamble, removed the comment on Nuclear Blasts PR costs since it's totally irrelevant and moved the information about the removal of Tara Reid's scenes to the Director's cut version. This last information needs a source though.

I also changed the film box template as per Wikipedias guidelines on using this template. The budget cost figure seemed to be wrong as well (IMDb states $20 million).

I moved the information about songs from the preamble to the Soundtrack portion. I understand that the music might be the most interesting part of this film, but it is nevertheless an article about the film and not it's music. I also edited the Soundtrack portion of the article to be less intrusive to the article as a whole.Martin (talk) 13:21, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
