Alonzo Butler (*October 30, 1979, in Chattanooga, Tennessee ) is a US-American heavyweight boxer.

The massive (250lbs, 6' 3) "Big Zo" Butler started boxing in 1997. He had only a few amateur fights (13 fights by his own count, no exact record given (Source:The Sweet Science), was playing football and wrestled in high school.

In 2000 he turned pro and as of 2007 won 26 fights , one draw, 1 no contest against relatively weak opposition, the most well-known being clubfighters Zack Page, Otis Tisdale, Maurice Wheeler and James Walton. All in all he has been given little ink by the media who have criticized his record as being somewhat inflated. In addition, he had a bizarre ESPN debut when he hurt his late sub opponent Terry Porter who stumbled to the other side of the ring followed by a charging Butler whose body slammed into him, launching Porter through the ropes and onto a ringside table. It should have been ruled a No contest but Butler was awarded a "TKO" which prompted ridicule by the Ring Magazine afterwards.

Butler's chin remains untested, he is a somewhat unknown commodity in the division, he is ranked #68 in the IWBR computer ratings. He has a renowned coach in his corner in Ace Miller who has co-trained Evander Holyfield. In 2006 he signed with Art Pelullo's Banner Promotions. In December 2007 he was scheduled to fight his first well-known opponent in Dominick Guinn, but pulled out on short notice.
