Alone I Play is the debut live album by Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis's solo effort, released on November 10, 2007 by Invisible Arts. The album was recorded at Malibu's Woodshed Recorder on November 7, 2007, the day before Davis embarked on his first solo tour, the Alone I Play tour. Alone I Play was recorded and packaged in CD and DVD formats and prepared for sale in no longer than three days, where it is sold at venues where Davis performs (although a commercial release is planned). The album features songs originally composed by Davis and Gibbs for the 2002 film Queen of the Damned, as well as classic and uncommonly performed Korn songs. Despite the fact that this is a solo effort, three members of Korn's backup band appear on Alone I Play: keyboardist Zac Baird, guitarist Shane Gibson and percussionist Michael Jochum. The album's title is a pun on Korn's 2002 single "Alone I Break".

[edit] Limited Edition
The Limited Edition of Alone I Play was the version sold on the tour. It had a red background where the CD and DVD are, and there isn't a tracklist page. Instead, the band members signed the blank page. Jonathan's name was not on the front cover. The Limited Edition is very rare, as only 1200 copies were made. The last six copies later became the Super-Limited Edition.
[edit] Super-Limited Edition
The Super-Limited Edition was the last six copies of the Limited Edition. These six super-rare copies of Alone I Play were sold exclusively on eBay.
This version exists because the Invisible Arts staff found out that one of the Limited Edition boxes was missing. They originally thought it was a shipping error, but later discovered that the box had been stolen. However, the box was recovered with minimal casualties.
After retrieving the box, they added on to the six copies of the Limited Edition of Alone I Play, creating the "Super-Limited" Edition. A glossy photo of Jonathan Davis' solo band was attached, as well as a bonus silver CD. The bonus CD included two tracks not found on the CD or DVD (Blue Monday and The Chauffeur), as well as a track found on the DVD, but not the CD (Falling Away From Me).
A portion of the money spent went to the Smile Train, a charity that raises money for children who can't otherwise afford necessary surgery.
For those who couldn't make the tour, or couldn't afford the Super-Limited Edition, the Standard Edition was made.
[edit] Standard Edition
The standard edition of Alone I Play is the version sold online. This version has a green inset, unlike the red inset on the Limited Edition. The standard edition also has a tracklist page. The last difference is that Jonathan's name is written on the front cover. This version isn't rare like the limited editions either, it is currently available to purchase at the Invisible Arts website.[1]
