[edit] Plot Summary

After the shooting in the roof, Maritza discovers she has a new boss and Sully and Ty are repartenered. A car robbery ends in tragedy for a girl.

[edit] Plot Details

This episode continues after Faith shot Donald Mann on the rooftop. Cruz is seen swimming under the water, taking the cuffs out of Mann's hands. She then emerges and plants the knife Mann had in the water. After Faith tells her that she doesn't need any help, Maritza tells her that she has to tell the boss and any officer who comes that Mann had attacked Maritza, and so she (Faith) shot him in self-defense, or if not she won't be able to see her family anymore, as she will be taken to jail. When Swerzky arrives, he asks Cruz what happened, and she tells him to ask Faith, who repeats Maritza's story. When Cruz asks Swerzky if he saw Yoshi on his way up, they discover that he slipped into the wind, and Faith finds out that no one has told her family that she is not dead (in the previous episode they had told the public that Cruz, Bosco and Faith were dead so Mann wouldn't go after them). As they return to the precinct, Maritza gives her declaration, but Captain Finney turns up tells Swerzky, Faith and Cruz that he doesn't believe Cruz's story, and that he will find out the truth, as Maritza "always puts the blame on somebody of lower rank".
Meanwhile, Officer Davis goes to Sasha's place, and they hook up. When they all return the next day, Sasha is paired up with Ty and Sully with Faith, who thinks that the only reason Swerzky partenered her up with Sully is for him to take care of her. When they are about to go out, Faith finds out that Fred has sent a lawyer with divorce papers to the precinct, which makes her go ballistic. She then goes with Sully to Fred's working place and they have a fight. Fred tells her that he will have custody of their children as she is never home, but Faith tells her she will fight, as Fred is a recovering alcoholic.
When Cruz goes to her office, she finds that she is no longer the boss, as Captain John Miller is there to curb her renedage ways, as he then tells her that she is out of control. She can't do anything without his permission, which makes her very mad. He then asks to see one of her best informants, Patch Monk, but when they arrive, Miller cuffs him and takes him to the precinct for illegal carrying of drugs. Cruz goes ballistic, as it took her two years to have his confidence, and Miller just ruined her hard work. Minutes later, Cruz gets an anonymous call telling her that there is an I.A.B. plant in the precinct who is after her, and she immediately assumes that it's her new boss. Later in the night, Miller and Cruz are driving when a robbery takes place, and Cruz arrests the man, but Miller tells her to let him go (which he does) and reminds her that she can't do anything without his consent, and that they sent him there not because he was fired, but because she is "out of control".
Swerzky informs Faith that she has been promoted to detective for reuniting Rebecca with heir parents and for saving Maritza's life. She then talks to Sully about not wanting to take her promotion, as she is waiting for Bosco to recover and partner up with him again. Sully tells her that Bosco probably wont be able to recover, no matter how strong he is, and that she should take the job in order to win the battle over her children's custody. Faith then goes to visit Bosco, but gets a devastating prognosis from his doctor, who tells him that he will see again, but that he will never be able to work again.
As this is happening, Ty is driving with Sasha when he sees a car speeding past them, and recognises the three girls driving as Regina, Val and Cynthia (Regina's sister), who usually seduce men into taking them to a party, and when he goes to buy something to drink, they steal the car. He stops them, and Cynthia is taken out of the car, but when Sasha gets distracted, Cynthia runs away, and as she is being chased, she is run over by a car and later dies. While investigating who the car belongs to, Ty finds out that one of the girls killed the previous owner, an old lady. As soon as Val finds out that Cynthia is dead, she blames her, but ultimately Regina tells Sasha the truth. When they talk to Jelly about the case, they find out that they had stopped them for no reason and they could be free to go, so to Sasha's dislike, Ty comes up with a story (that they were speeding and passed a red light) so that Val can be prosecuted.
As the day ends, Faith goes to visit the slowly recovering Bosco again, along with Sully, Swerzky, Ty and Rose (Bosco's mother). The episode ends when we see Captain Finney talking to Sasha, who turns out to be the rat, about wanting to get information out of Cruz about what really happened concerning Mann's murder.

[edit] Quotes

Cruz: This is prison we’re talking about. It’s murder. You’ll never see your family again.
Yokas: What the hell do you care what happens to me?
Cruz: He started the day trying to put you, me, and Bosco out of commission. Now, you do what you’re thinking, and he got two out of three. It’s not about you, or me. It’s about not letting him win.
