Alma Cuervo

Alma Cuervo (born 13 August 1951 in Tampa, Florida) is a Hispanic-American stage actress who has also performed on film and television. She holds an M.F.A. in acting from the Yale School of Drama, from which she graduated in 1976 alongside actress Meryl Streep and playwright Wendy Wasserstein.

Cuervo starred in the role of Madame Morrible in the National Tour of Wicked. She replaced Carole Shelley on March 8th 2006 and left the Tour on January 16th 2007 to star in the National US Tour of My Fair Lady. Cuervo is currently reprising her role as Madame Morrible in the National Tour of Wicked. She returned to the role in November 2007, replacing Barbara Tirrell. Cuervo will leave the Tour on June 15th 2008 and she will be replaced by Myra Lucretia Taylor.
