[edit] Category:Protestant_Wikipedians

Hi, It looks like you meant to add your userpage to Category:Protestant_Wikipedians, but you've linked to Category:Category:Protestant_Wikipedians instead. I've taken the liberty of changing this - hope that it ok. SeventyThree(Talk) 04:48, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Whoops, I didn't notice that. Thanks for that. aliceinlampyland 15:27, 23 November 2005 (UTC), who is a bit of a clod.

[edit] Mec Vannin

What you removed was not vandalism, but quotations from Mec Vannin's own website, along with the links. If they put it on their own website, why is it no good for wikipedia? I take it you are probably the individual who has been repeatedly (and anonymously) removing categories, links, and actual quotations from various related articles. --ImpartialCelt 18:42, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

  • I'm not that person, and I removed your edits because they are were selectively picked, and include your personal commentary. This is inappropriate and POV. aliceinlampyland 13:55, 25 November 2005 (UTC)
    • Not selective at all really. Look in most Mec Vannin material, and there is something about English immigration into the Isle of Man. I think it is inappropriate to have one sided articles, and if that involves omitting their anti-immigration stance, then that is wrong. --ImpartialCelt 11:35, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
      • I have expanded the article, using different material, including more on their policy. The immigration debate features strongly and as such I have referenced it where appropriate. --ImpartialCelt 11:57, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Hi there!

Thanks for reverting the vandalism done in my userpage! I still don't understand why people do it, but, at least it was in my user page, not in a Wikipedia article...

Thanks again,

Milena

[edit] Unitarian Democratic Coalition

  • I have marked this page for cleanup because of the gap between the "Electoral scores achieved by CDU" header and the actual table marking the election results. My knowledge of wikicode isn't good enough to fix this. Can a lovely individual offer her or his assistence? aliceinlampyland 19:06, 25 October 2005 (UTC)
  • I've noticed that post in the discussion page, I know that it was centuries ago and you probably don't even remember it. I just want to ask what do you mean. I am not a native speaker, perhaps I'm missing something in your message. By the way, I've noticed that you were in Portugal, nice thing, It's not for being Portuguese, but it's a nice country, come back! I'm from Aveiro. Afonso Silva 01:53, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Moving Dutch Parties

I saw you proposed moving some Dutch parties (DS'70, PPR, CHU, RKSP). But I think you missed out the Algeemene Bond van RK-kiesverenigingen, the Reformatorische Politieke Federatie, the Onafhankelijke Senaatsfractie and GroenLinks. Do you intend to move them all yourself or do you need a hand with that? C mon 08:07, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wriston Bolender

Who is Wriston Bolender? Are you him, or is he a friend or relative? patsw 14:56, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

I have no idea who that is. An earlier version of the Jackson Heights page said that "Jackson Heights holds Queens' largest population of gays and its own gay community. Their spokesperson is Wriston Bolender." That statement is unverifiable (census information on gays?) and it's absurd that they would have a 'spokesperson'. I went back and an earlier version of the page said he was a photographer, so I removed the later point and reinserted him as a photographer. aliceinlampyland 22:23, 7 May 2006 (UTC).

[edit] British Spellings izes and ises

I noticed your had entered "corrections" on British articles where words ended with the suffix "ize" or "izing". Using "z" is mistakingly believed to be American, but is in fact the preferred stlye among many British accademics including the compilers of the Oxford English Dictionary. Ending words in "ise" is a late development in Commonwealth English which gained poularity after the second world war. If you are able, look in any reference book or dictionary of the early C20 or before and you would be hard pushed to see "ise". Having said all that, both versions are now acceptable in modern British English, but there is no necessity to change it from one to another (I think also there might be a few isolated exceptioms where one form is correct but not the other).
