Alicia Froio is an honors high school student and Chair of the Young Democrats of America (YDA) High School Caucus. As Chair of the YDAHSC, Alicia leads high school Democrats across the nation in political activism, helps elect Democratic candidates to office, and acts as the official high school representative for the Democratic Party. Within the YDA, Alicia was a youth representative for a policy discussion teleconference with Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA).

A passionate Democrat, Alicia believes strongly in protecting citizens' right to personal liberties, providing all Americans with equal opportunities in the classroom and workforce, and transforming America into an energy independent nation. She also is firm in her belief that all citizens should have access to high quality health care. With regards to education, Alicia wants to strengthen American high school's curriculums, resources, and technology, and believes that college should be readily available and affordable to every US citizen.

Alicia is most passionate about foreign affairs, specifically Chinese-US relations and the South East Asian region. She feels that America must be assertive towards China with regards to Intellectual Property Rights, currency issues, human rights abuses, and product inspection of Chinese exports. Alicia embraces globalization and strongly supports free trade.

Alicia is an active Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) member. In June 2006-July 2006, Alicia attended the JSA Georgetown summer program on a scholarship from the Alice Tweed Tuohy Foundation. She studied US Foreign Policy with Dr. Duncker. Because of their camaraderie and debate skills, Alicia's Congressional Workshop (CW) House, the House of the Fans of Caribou, won the "Best House" award. Alicia won her debate on the resolution: Resolved, that America end diplomatic relations with Hugo Chavez's administration. This Georgetown summer school experience lead her to found a chapter at her own school. In the begining of the 2006-2007 academic school year at Villa Victoria, Alicia started a JSA chapter. Alicia was president in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. Alicia has won several best speaker awards and has also contributed to the national JSA newspaper, the Statement.

In August of 2006, Alicia was an intern for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) as a representative for Kids For Democracy. Alicia was invited to film a Nick News With Linda Ellerbee special on the lack of civility in the Midterm elections. The show aired on November 5, 2006.

Alicia Froio is a track and cross country member of Villa Victoria's Varsity teams. Alicia has a heavy background in dance and musical theater. She played Shelby Eatonton in Villa Victoria's production of Steel Magnolias, and was dance captain and a main dancer for several musicals. Alicia won an award for her dancing performance in Stagedoor Manor's production of Celebration. She is also a classical voice student of Helena Wilson.

Alicia Froio is a committed Catholic. In late March of 2007, Alicia received three Holy Sacraments of Pennance, Communion, and Confirmation.

In Summer of 2007, Alicia studied in Shanghai, China for a month through the program Glimpses of China.
