Talk:Alien Quadrilogy

[edit] "Tetralogy"
"Tetralogy" is itself a neologism, of course. The traditional term for four of something is "quartet", but that would give the series an air of classical grace rather than the fanwankery that it is, so the current name was probably chosen after careful deliberation.
- Except 'tetralogy' is a term that goes back to Greek theatre - so predates 'quartet' somewhat - and specifically refers to works of drama or fiction. A quartet is primarily a group of four musicians, but more generally four of anything. -- Beardo 06:00, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

- My bad. I still cannot find it on dictionary.com or bartleby.com or askoxford.com however. I'll retreat to the position that it's a real word but not a commonly accepted English word. Even the Wiktionary deprecates it in favor of "tetralogy", which also hits the ear rather clumsily. I'd hate to write four of anything and have someone label them with either word.
[edit] Qadrilogy with 4 discs only
I bought in 2007 in the Netherlands a box titled Alien Quadrilogy, and it contained only 4 discs, each with film and a little extras. It cost 25 euro. In retrodpect, if i knew it was not the real thing, i would not buy it. Think you'd like to know. Andru nl (talk) 06:36, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
