[edit] Notability
I am fairly new to Wikipedia, so I'm not 100% sure why this entry is being contested. Ms. Berneche is an opera singer with a lengthy resume in the U.S. who has sung at many of the biggest houses in the states, including the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She has been reviewed in newspapers, as well as has been interviewed on TV and radio. I'll look into what constitutes "notable", but what is missing from this entry that makes it not notable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bmueller@gmail.com (talk • contribs) 01:25, 19 May 2008
- Hi, I'm pretty sure she is notable, but you need references to verify this such as reviews, articles, etc. See Sylvia O'Brien (soprano) for an example of what's required. Also, you shouldn't link inside the article to the web sites of all the opera companies etc. If they have their own Wikipedia article then you should link to that. If they don't, leave them off, unless you are linking to specific page which shows her performance record at the company. (And that should be formatted as a footnote.) I've formatted the article to replace the links. But it still needs reliable independent sources to back up the claims made, especially those involving the premieres of new works, and to establish her notability. See WP:Bio for more. I'll leave you some useful links on your talk page which will give you more guidance on style and other editing issues. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 12:13, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
