Changed:Ali Rıza Efendi was an Albanian. to He was a Turk.
Ali Rıza Efendi was a Turk. There is no question about that. even in the article it is said that there is no proof whatsoever to prove this baseless claim. so why keep it? what is the reason to keep this nonsense in this wiki article which should only consist well proven facts? First of all, what is a Turk? People never identified themselves as Turk.In the Ottoman Empire, non Muslims called Muslims who spoke Osmanlica and were Muslim,Turk.
Well, I myself am a Turk. I think you are joking because ı really can not believe anyone can be that ignorant. But if you really are, don't be shy and try searching Turks on wiki. after all, this website is for education for people like you;)Isatay 01:58, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
~~ I read that he may have been a jew from Albania. There is no soild evidence that he was Turkish. Also, there were many jews and secret jews in Thesalonika so this could be true. If he was Turkish, why did he change the alphabet to latin and make so many changes against islam? Am curious. by ApplesnPeaches ~~
Ali Rıza Efendi's father, Ataturk's grandfather Hafız Ahmed Efendi's family has origins from Konya (mid anatolia) and Aydın(west anatolia). Their family records can be found in ottoman archives linked to people emigrated rumeli-Balkans. Hegira calendar 1051(1641) account 469 and hegira calendar 950(1543) account number 82... Also his father is a Hafız, means who memorized the whole koran. shows it is not so possible to say "ali rıza efendi was a jew". And at final I'd like to add that telling "ataturk has changed arabic alphabet to latin and worked against islam bla bla" can't be any proof. pls think twice before making juvenile comments. 85.101.231.173 (talk) 13:10, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
i changed the wording of the sentence aqbout him being Albanian, if only "some" think he was that it's clear that is the minority view. Ataturk, his life and parents and are wellknown and published about, not just in Turkey and this notion his father was albanian is a a fringe/new view, it's not for wikipedia to present it as the dominant view. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.29.210.205 (talk) 03:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
