Talk:Ali Mardan Khan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A little question - Khan is supposed to have surrendered Qandahar in 1638, so how could he have been a noble in the court of a ruler (Tahmasp I) who died in 1576 ? The Shah of Iran at this point would have been Safi of Persia, and the next ruler with that name (Tahmasp II) wasn't born until around 1704. It might be a typo, and it should actually be 1538, rather than 1638 (which would probably fit in with the Kandahar and Humayun articles), but I've checked the reference and it definately says 1638... Any answers please :-) CultureDrone (talk) 08:06, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and the Karim Khan article states that Ali Mardan Khan was around in 1747.....either he's semi-immortal, or there might be more than one person with this name.... CultureDrone (talk) 08:09, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
