Alisdair Simpson

Alisdair Simpson is a British actor and a BBC narrator. Alisdair has voiced popular documentary such as "Pompeii - The Last Day", "Supervolcanoes - The Truth About Yellowstone", "Hannibal - The Man The Myth, The Mystery", and "Ancient Rome: The Rise and Fall of an Empire".

He has a distinctive, masculine voice, and a typical Received Pronunciation making him one of the most popular and recognizable narrators of BBC documentaries.

[edit] Biography and Professional Career

Alisdair went to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and graduated in 1995.

His professional stage debut was at the Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester and has gone on to work there and abroad working with the R.S.C., NT, Birmingham Rep, Tobacco Factory, the BBC and others.

On television he has appeared in No Bananas, Soldier Soldier, Men Behaving Badly, Teachers, Spooks, The Worst Week of My Life, Broken News, The Bill, (live episode), Casualty, Paramount Comedy, Dreamteam, etc.

Alisdair voiced the Ford Focus "Shadows" campaign 2005 and the Ford Mondeo "Sea Creatures" campaign 2004/5.

He has voiced audio guides for the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art New York and various corporate pieces.
