Aline Systems
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ALINE Systems, Inc. (ALINE) designs, develops and sells ALINE suspension footbeds and the "ALINEr," a modern-day Brannock device that uses simple mechanics and a static, low energy laser to measure lower leg and ankle alignment before and after the footbeds are fitted and customized. ALINE was founded in Marblehead, MA in 2005 by Gordon Hay (inventor), Keith Orr (designer) and Derek Carroll (president).
Hay invented the ALINE technology after working for two decades as a maker of custom orthotics for advanced skiers, snowboarders and mountain climbers. The company's goal was to build Hay's knowledge into an engineered product that would be available to the masses and provide optimal alignment to users without disrupting natural biomechanics.
ALINE began selling its products in New England in January 2006. As of January 2008 the company has a nationwide account base in running, golf, cycling, wintersports and outdoor sports. Its products can be purchased online via www.aline.com. Custom fittings are available at ALINE retail accounts, and at selected local sporting events.
