Alice N' Chains is the first demo and first recording overall of the band Alice In Chains. The original line-up included Nick Polluck, Yanni "Johnny" Bacolas, Layne Staley, and James Bergstrom. This is the one recording when the band was known as Alice N' Chains. Others were made. It was made in a 2-part demo known as "Demo #1" and "Demo #2" both from 1987. Physical copies of the cassettes are extremely rare, although bootleg copies can be found on filesharing programs.

When the band was under the name "Alice N' Chains", Jerry Cantrell, Mike Starr, and Sean Kinney were not in the band until Cantrell met Layne Staley and they changed the band name to Alice In Chains.

These tracks were engineered by Peter Barnes and recorded at London Bridge Studios, Seattle, WA
