Ali khasawneh

Ali Mahmoud Al-khasawneh was born in Nu'eima, Jordan on July 10, 1929. He currently lives in Amman, Jordan with his wife Khadijeh Abdul-Majeed. They have four children: Lina, Lulu, Mahmoud and Nasser.

Al-Khasawneh received his BA in Ecomomics at American University of Beirut, Beirut,Lebanon, a Masters degree in Economics from the George Washington University in Washington DC in 1955, and a Masters of Philosophy from the University of London in 1975. Highlights of his career include:

  • Managing Director of the Kuwaiti Oil Tanker Company (1960 - 1975)
  • Chairman & Managing Director of the Arab Potash Company (Jordan 1975 - 1984)
  • Chairman of Jordan's National Shipping Company (1981 - 1984)
  • Executive Chairman & Managing Director of Gefinor Finance Group (London 1986 - 1992)
  • Chairman & Managing Director of Grand States Company (Marbella, Spain 1988 - 1992)
  • Economic Advisor to the World Bank (Washington DC 1985)
