[edit] Robert Irsay and Michael Chertoff

Hi- I see you edited the Robert Irsay article to link Michael Chertoff to the article on the current Secretary of Homeland Security. This is not the same Michael Chertoff as is the Secretary.

  • In the Michael Chertoff article, the secretary was born in 1953, meaning he was only 30 years old when the Colts moved, and also, according to the Secretary's biography, he was Deputy U.S. Attorney in 1984, making him ineligible to represent private clients, like Irsay.
  • Being from Indianapolis, I am familiar with Irsay and his attorney, Michael Chertoff. I recall that Chertoff was described as having been Irsay's attorney for many years, dating back to when the Secretary was still in law school and probably earlier.
  • In light of this, I am certain that this is not the same Michael Chertoff as Michael Chertoff. Chertoff (Irsay's attorney) is a relatively non-notable private attorney whose only claim to fame is his representation of Irsay and does not rate his own article. Consequently, I am removing the brackets around his name in the Robert Irsay article

[edit] Please avoid original research and potential slander.

I just reverted a sentence you added to the Alex Jones (journalist) article, where you stated: "In a stunning annoucement on December 19, 2005, he announced that he would be supporting the 2008 presidential candidacy of a Michigan man who claims to be God. [1]" Unless you can cite a reputable source (or Jones himself) that can substantiate this assertion, it ammounts to original research and is quite likely slander. If you're gonna make such a stunning claim as this, be sure you can cite a good source, and not just someone's angelfire page, which by the way did not even mention Alex Jones's name. Again - I ask you to stop your original research edits on Alex Jones related articles. If you know something from personal experience, that's original research. You need to be able to cite any edits you make with a reputable source - especially if it's something that's contentious or could potentially be considered slander. Please see WP:NOR for more info. Also, completely irrelevent and superfluous info is not wanted even if it can be cited - for example your adding to the disambig page that Jones is a "star wars fan." Please stop doing these sorts of edits - if you continue to make them then they will be considered vandalism. Thank you. Blackcats 23:01, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
