From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Algoma Central and Hudson Bay Railway was a rail company in Canada.
Originally incorporated as the Algoma Central Railway Company on August 11, 1899, the Algoma Central and Hudson Bay Railway name came into being on May 23, 1901 when plans were made to extend the railroad to Hudson Bay. Track was laid to Hearst, Ontario in 1914, at which time plans were abandoned to reach Hudson Bay. The Algoma Central and Hudson Bay name was then changed to the Algoma Central Railway on June 30, 1965.
