Talk:Alfred I. DuPont Building
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Why the name?
I can't find any info as to why it's named for duPont. Was he involved in the construction, or was it just named in honor of him? If anyone knows, and can provide a source so it can be added to the article, it would be much appreciated. --Ebyabe 14:10, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Clarification needed
"It is one of Miami's only Art Deco buildings that is over 20 floors." is hardly meaningful. "only" might be replaced by "few" or by a positive integer (e.g. 5) or a numerical place holder (e.g. handful of). In those cases and even as it stands the second "is" should be "are". Or should "one of" and the "s" of "buildings" be deleted? The website www.alfredidupontbuilding.com describes it as Miaimi's only Art Noveau skyscaper (but can a site consistently using " its' " be trusted?). That site always writes the building's name in upper case with "DU" in a smaller font than the following P, some places all other letters match that P, other places only four (A, I (his middle initial), P, and B) are larger and the rest match the DU. Further www chaos comes from having, or not, a period after the I and a general liberality with capitals (e.g. du v DU)) and interword spaces. This should be sorted out before multiple lawsuits ensue.SilasW 19:34, 15 May 2007 (UTC) Oops! Art Deco not misspelled Art No-u-veauSilasW 19:38, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
