Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba

Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba (born 1951 in Solares, Cantabria, Spain) is the present Interior minister within the present Spanish government, led by the PSOE. He obtained his doctorate in the chemistry faculty of the Complutense University in Madrid, where he went on to become professor. His speciality was reaction mechanisms in organic chemistry. He represented Toledo in Congress from 1993 to 1996, Madrid from 1996 until 2004, Cantabria from 2004 to 2008 and Cádiz since then.
