Alfred Dolge

Alfred Dolge was a New York City industrialist, inventor and author.[1]

He was an importer and manufacturer of piano materials. In 1874 Alfred Dolge went to Brocket's Bridge, New York, prospecting for spruce wood to be used for piano sounding boards. The area was renamed Dolgeville in his honor.
