[edit] Great image
I just wanted to say that I thought this is an amazing image and I thank you for uploading it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Hard_disk_platter_reflection.jpg --mboverload@ 08:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] corvette leaf springs
Please provide some support for the harmonic claims. I have never read a technical justification of these claims. I also have never seen anyone explain how this cross talk would be different than that which would transmit through the roll bar. None of the race car engineers I've talked to have mentioned this issue when I've asked about the leaf spring.
I think you and the other authors have done a superb job of cleaning up my original, long winded entry. The rewritten text does a much better job of conveying my original points. Much of that cleaning has involved removing my justifications for some of my technical points. That is OK when points are self evident. However, when points are in dispute (C3 mount issue, harmonics) they should be justified technically. As the person who is adding the disputed content please step up to the task of providing proof.
[edit] Macon
Wonderful shot of Macon. Thanks for sharing. You should upload more! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Macon_night_skyline.JPG

[edit] Why Revert HDD Picture
It is not nice to revert without explanation. Please explain why you reverted the hard disk drive picture. The original picture is confusing with the reflection and the screwdriver and does not show many of the components of the drive. Furthermore, the caption is way too long. We ought to have this conversation on one page, I am watching your talk page, so we can do it here or we can do it on the HDD page or on my talk page if you are watching it. Either way, my problem with the "boring" image is that it is confusing (reflection, screwdriver) and incomplete. It is a partially disassembled drive in the process of being disassembled. Shouldn't the first picture at lease show heads and disks? If you don't like the one I chose from Wiki media, pick another one, but lets not leave this one there Tom94022 (talk) 19:29, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
It's been on that page for nearly 18 months and had yet to be changed before you. You'll notice the comment not far up this page in reference to it. You're the first person I've seen to consider it confusing. I think it's intriguing and draws attention to the article.
If you genuinely don't like it, open a change request discussion on the talk page of the article with an alternative picture. If you can get a majority to go along with you, then I won't object to the change.

[edit] Corvette Leaf Spring
I've noticed you are quite knowlegdable on this subject. So i ask for your help. I have added a point to the disadvantages section citing a motor trend article saying leafs adversly affect the ride/handling because it causes the rear to behave like a rigid axle since it connects both wheels. But one editor who seems to 'own' the article says that he disagrees and so he constantly deletes this post and any other. Regarding Motor Trend as not 'qualified' because the article had a one word typo. Perhaps you could offer him some type of extra credibility that would help thanks. --Autostream (talk) 07:13, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- While I'm not an expert on suspension design, I fear your opponent may be right. Motor Trend is a generalist magazine; it's not appropriate to use a vague quote from them to support a specific technical explanation of crosstalk. I've seen nothing about harmonics in any exploration of the Corvette's leaf springs. That topic was brought up initially in reference to the C3, but I could find no support, so I removed it. Coil springs are substituted primarily to allow greater customization of spring rate, and to separate spring rate and anti-roll rate, not for inherent problems with leafs. See here:
