[edit] Alex Davie

A tag has been placed on Alex Davie, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. [edit] January 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Shout! (online music magazine), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Your first article. You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Hi Alexalex2008, thanks for getting in touch with me on my talk page. There are two problems with the article you wrote. The more serious is that it does not show how Shout! is notable. In particular, you need to meet the criteria laid out in our guidelines on the notability of websites. The easiest way to do this would be to include citations to multiple, independent, published stories about Shout! magazine. For example, if an article about Shout! had been published in the New York Times (or an equivalently reputable Russian newspaper) that would be an excellent source.

The second problem is that the article as it stood, was written like an advert for Shout! Its important that all Wikipedia articles are written from a neutral point of view. Sentences like "Very shortly SHOUT! became known in every corner of Russia, it could be purchased on various Depeche Mode conventions, Depeche Mode parties and via subscription." and "After going online SHOUT! magazine began to be recognizable all over the world ranging from Germany, Sweden, Spain, Italy, and crossing the Atlantics to America, Canada, Brazil and Argentina." make unveriiable claims about the success and readership of the magazine. The fact that you wrote (for example): "We took off some materials, photos etc...." indicates to me that you are/were involved with the magazine and are therefore not writing from a neutral perspective.

You are welcome to recreate the article if you can provide proper sources and rewrite it in a neutral tone. Meanwhile can I suggest you take a look at the core policies of Wikipedia which give you more details about the basic rules here. Many thanks, Gwernol 18:56, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

One suggestion I have: try creating the article first in your userspace, which means it will be a private workarea not an article. Once you are happy with it, I would be willing to give you my thoughts on it. If it meets the Wikipedia standards we can then move it over to be a full article. If you want to do that, click on the following link and create your article there: User:Alexalex2008/Shout!. You can work on the article for as long as you like there without a danger that it will be removed. Best, Gwernol 19:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
