I'm a historian and part-time lecturer in Manchester. I am interested in mid-seventeenth-century Britain. My thesis was a study of Lancashire during the Commonwealth of England, and I am planning to work on a history of the Church during the period next (funding permitting!). Prior to this, I have worked on Henry Ireton, and various aspects of radicalism. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, some of my work will be published.
I am generally interested in late-medieval and early-modern history, but in particular politics and religion. I teach a course about the Reformations, and I would like to teach a course about early-modern republics and republicanism in the future.
Beyond academia, I am interested in music (Alternative rock), and football (Reading F.C.).
