Hi, I was born in Saint-Petersburg Russia, lived and worked there for the best half of my life, then worked in USA at UIUC. Then moved to Australia to work for Moldflow. I am earning my living as a plastic engineer but interested in aspects of human culture and God's wisdom. If you understand Russian language you can read my livejournal at http://www.livejournal.com/users/zanuda. Or on IRC as Alex Bakharev/abakharev.
I am an admin on English Wikipedia, if you want me to be recalled here is the instruction how to do it in four easy steps.
[edit] Distribution of Elephants and Materialization of Ghosts
In the best Soviet Traditions let me celebrate the New Year by awarding barnstars for the best contributions during the last few months:
- User:Ghirlandajo gets St. Vladimir Barnstar with diamonds in recognition of his leadership on Portal:Russia project and his articles on Medieval Russia.
- User:Irpen gets the WikiDefender Barnstar for his heroic work protecting Wikipedia from the Bad Faith Edits and Vandalism.
- User:Punkmorten gets the Gold Run Barnstar for his articles on Russian and Soviet athletes.
- User:Camerafiend gets the Rotating Barnstar for his articles on Moscow Metro
- User:Vald gets the Exceptional Newcomer Award for his articles on Russian poets and translations of Russian poetry into English
- I also recieved a barnstar from User:Ghirlandajo on the Catholic Christmas Day. I am really proud of it and hope to live up to this award.
The next awarding ceremony would be at some other Soviet holiday, probably the March 8 abakharev 07:39, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Distribution of Elephants and Materialization of Ghosts 2

[edit] Distribution of Elephants and Materialization of Ghosts 3
User:Khoikhoi got Order of Friendship of Peoples, as per statute, "for accomplishments in strengthening of inter-ethnic and international friendship and cooperation". It was a relatively minor Order in the Soviet Union, but I regard it as one of the highest awards on Wikipedia
[edit] Distribution of Elephants and Materialization of Ghosts 4
