[edit] Story

The plot revolves around Stanley Yelnats, a boy wrongly convicted of stealing the shoes of famous baseball player Clyde "Sweet Feet" Livingston. Faced with a choice between jail and a stay at Camp Green Lake in Texas, he picks the latter, only to realize that the so-called "lake" dried up over a century beforehand. Inmates must dig one hole every day in order to "build character", five feet wide and deep.
