Where are his 'assists' statistics cited from?

Statistics are true at least for his career at Fenerbahçe. He is the top assister of the Turkish Premier League for last two seasons. With respect, Deliogul 11:27, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] POV

Much of this article is comprimised with someone's POV. Please help improve it to NPOV. CanbekEsen 03:59, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Why? I have just been working to add references to the page and take away any POV issues. What is wrong with the current copy?--Revolutionfan 04:23, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Alex, real name Alexsandro de Souza, (born September 14, 1977 in Curitiba) is a Brazilian football (soccer) attacking midfielder, who is currently playing for Fenerbahçe S.K. in Turkey after being bought from Cruzeiro in 2004 for 5 million dollars.[2] He is formerly known for his role as team captain on the Brazilian National Team after rising to prominence with Palmeiras. He is a skillful left-footed player who is adept at taking free-kicks, penalties, and corners for his team, as well as scoring from the run of play. He has tallied numerous goals for every team he has played for and is also known for his playmaking skills; more often than not leading his current league in assists. His flashy dribbling and wise on-field decisions have made him a quick fan favorite at just about every club he has been at. On April 9, 2006 he scored 2 goals in Turkcell Super League game against Sivasspor. The second one was his 250th career goal.

Many were disappointed with to see Alex left off of Brazil's 2006 World Cup squad when the less proven Ricardinho was selected. A fan campaign had been started prior to the World Cup in hopes to promote Alex's selection. [3] Alex played in 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship, 2000 Olympics football tournament, and had captained Brazil to the 2004 Copa America Championship. [4]

In 1999, IFFHS named Alex the 3rd best striker in the world.[5]

  • Let's take a look at this now :- "His flashy dribbling and wise on-field decisions have made him a quick fan favorite at just about every club he has been at."
That's sounds a lot like someone's opinion. It should be referenced by a reliable source or removed.
  • Next :- "Many were disappointed with to see Alex left off of Brazil's 2006 World Cup squad when the less proven Ricardinho was selected."
Many? Who are the many? Also, "when the less proven Ricardinho was selected" is very POV.

Yes, some of it has been fixed, but until all of it has, the tag should stay. CanbekEsen 05:03, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

I did not write the first quote (though I did edit it), so I can't speak for it. As for the second, there is a petition with around 400 signatures that I will reference. It is also safe to say Ricardinho who has 1/3rd of the caps and 1/21st of the international goals and had never had success outside of Brazil by the time of the 06 World Cup.--Revolutionfan 05:24, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
