Talk:Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Do we really need 2 images in a substub? Makes it hard to read, and Stalin Voroshilov Yakolev Krushev.jpg is a good image yet very low resolution and hard to tell who Yakolev is without the second image on the right. Should I delete until the article is large enough to sustain 2 photos, or leave it there? --Aika 14:48, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)
It's ok to remove that image. I've included it just for "historical reference". Yakovlev was a favourite of Stalin (as opposed to, say, Tupolev, who was imprisioned and rehabilitated only after Tu-2 creation).
Plus, it is a photo, and not an artist impression.
I can try to find a better copy of that image. BTW, do anybody know how to replace an image in the Commons repository?

I THINK it is as simple as uploading an image over the existing image? I would like the larger photo, even if the soviet encyclopedia artist impression is a standard for all aircraft designers.. would be willing to extend article so that both images would look nice as well. Let me know! --Aika 14:23, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)
- ok. I'll try to find that photo. As a workaround, I've found this feature: the code {{Commons|Александр Сергеевич Яковлев}} will result in box with link to Wikipedia Commons page, which can contain "more photos".

When I get off work I will do some more research into Yakovlev and see if we can bulk this article up more, might have to half-translate from the Soviet Encyclopedia but its better than nothing --Aika 17:36, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)
- ok. I have few minutes right now and will try to post my translation. But the wikipedia seem to be almost down now :-( --jno 15:33, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I am sure you translate better than I do. Glad we can work well togather --Aika 15:40, Mar 15, 2005 (UTC)
- i did it! now i have to run-run-run... please, check'n'edit the text! --jno 16:00, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Many thanks, going to edit it for you, now nobody can get mad about having 2 images, and if they do, OFF WITH THIER HEADS! :) --Aika 16:33, Mar 15, 2005 (UTC)
