Fr. Schmemann was named a "mitred archpriest" by Met. Ireney of the Russian Orthodox Metropolia. In 1966, he was named "Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne" by Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras, presented by Archbishop Iakovos during services at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in New York City.Jlmcea 22:04, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
