[edit] NIAC
The article was created by a single-purpose account NASA-NIAC. NASA-NIAC is also the title of Bolonkin's home page. NASA-NIAC is the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts. Bolonkin's use of this name seems strange considering that, according to this article in Pravda Bolonkin considers NIAC to be corrupt. It may well be that NIAC declined to provide funding to investigate Bolonkin's proposals and this has coloured Bolonkin's thinking. -- RHaworth 01:39, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Copyvios
In addition to the articles listed in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gas tube rocket hypersonic launcher, we also had Kinetic Space Tower and Centrifugal Space Launcher. My advice to anyone considering re-creating these articles is:
- Do Not Put Spurious Capitals in Article Titles - it antagonises hard-core Wikipedians before they have even opened the article
- Start with just one article called non-rocket space launch and flight. If it grows big it can be split later
- Make it perfectly clear that these are all simply proposals - none of them has been implemented or even prototyped
- For each plan, provide reference to a reliable independent source that has stated that the idea is feasible, ie. show peer review
- Also provide references to popular media sources that have expressed interest in these ideas. Ie. peer review is not enough, they must be notable
- Be aware of existing articles covering the same ground, including mass driver, space elevator and lunar space elevator.
