[edit] Dead Ends

There were a lot of dead end articles (they show up in red rather than blue) so I took them off. I put them in bold to signify that while they are prominent there are no artilces for them.

Why is there a career section? He's barely had one. TripleH1976 1:23, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Fair enough. I removed it. It used to look better with it there back when there was a picture, but now that that's gone... Vulturell 09:27, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Links

I'm sorry if this is the incorrect place to put this but can the unregistered person who has restored the "Alex Pettyfer Fansite" tagline to the link list stop doing this? It's not needed because it doesn't add information to the article or to the link. I think the link itself explains what the site is.Britishagent 20:40, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Removed line until sources can be provided. I searched the name on Google and got no results so I think this may be wishful thinking of a fan's part. Someone can add it if they prove me wrong. Britishagent 21:26, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hmm..Passed GA

Umm..This article is really short, but for a guy who's made two movies you've got everything well referenced and written, hang on the one thing you could do (In case he doesn't made any more films) is de-tablefy the filmography...yeah, this is a funny one

[edit] Future Plans

Shouldn't we have a future plans section? I'm sure he's said stuff about latest offers. User:Green01 11:16, October 15 2006 (UTC).

After Stormbreaker crashed and burned, his latest and only offer will probably be from McDonald's. RossyG 19:07, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

That is not true!!!!! Stormbreaker is a really good movie and so is the book - People just don't appreciate it because it wasn't advertised a lot in the USA. I bet Alex Pettyfer has had plenty of offers but is too cool to tell them to people like you.69.219.160.227 21:55, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Or people like you either. Or maybe there's nothing to tell. RossyG 13:42, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

But it's true that Stormbreaker was bigger in England than in the US, because both the book and the movie are English.75.63.65.1 01:37, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Life

You cannot tell me and make me belive that this guy does not have more of a personal life. (e.g., GIRLFRIEND!!!!) I actually had a friend who was disapointed that wikipedia did not have more info. don't need the dirty scoop, just a scratch on the surface. I also think the stuff under the Personal Life heading isn't all that personal.... Spottedleaf 21:49, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia isn't a gossip column. -- Britishagent 22:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

is this alex's real myspace? http://www.myspace.com/petty_fer —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.104.147.84 (talk) 22:26, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Alex Pettyfer is hot!!!

Alex Pettyfer is hot - almost as handsome as Jeremy Sumpter. I think they both are some of the most good-looking young actors I've ever seen in this day and age. --203.15.122.35 06:59, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Does anyone know how to do your hair like Alex, because all the chicks think he is super hot.

[edit] Contradiction in article

"According to the several interviews, he is currently single." "He has a girlfriend, Amy F., who he has been dating since early October."

I cannot fix this as I do not know which is true.

[edit] He's not going to be in the next movie?!?!

Is it true that Alex Pettyfer won't be in the next movie? Who cares if he's 'too old'?! He was the perfect Alex Rider! All his fans will miss him! Any other actor wouldn't be Alex Rider! I miss him already!!!!!  :( 69.219.160.227 22:01, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

There's no second film for him to star in. Films that flop and lose money do not get sequels. Stormbreaker cost $40M and recouped less than half of that theatrically. RossyG 13:49, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

I don't know if you've never watched the movie or what, but there is going to be a sequel, off of the next book in the series, Point Blanc.75.63.65.1 01:40, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bullying?

In the article, it says Alex Pettyfer left school because of "excessive bullying". Does that mean he was a bully or he was bullied? I think it needs to be cleared up.69.219.160.227 22:06, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

He tried to bully a younger boy; the younger boy retaliated by hitting Pettyfer. RossyG 13:45, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Where did you hear this?75.63.65.1 01:41, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

I think that Alex himself mentioned in an interveiw that he bullied, but I don't think anyone mentioned the details. ~Bella 14:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fansite

Do we need *all* the fansites? If someone wants to see picture of him, he/she can google them up. If the fansites have personal information on him, it can be included into the article. If the fansites only have gossip, they are not worth mentioning, as WP isn't a gossip mill, if they have copyrighted material and WP links to them, we might get into trouble. Isn't IMDB and official site enough? Best regards, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 17:38, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Plumcouch! I noticed your recent edit about removing these extra fansites listing. I added the rest of the top links from Google when I noticed that there were already about three of them on this article. Naturally I thought, why not add just a couple more. But obviosuly Wikipedia does not need more - and thank you for picking that up. I also agree with you on the 'gossip' idea - if the fansites have something useful to contribute, like sources of information for this article, then they can stay, but there is no point in having an endless listing! (I remember that one of the fansites does have copies of his MySpace blogs on it (seeing that users must add his as a friend to access his blogs on the MySpace site), so would it be legal to add such a fansite link?) And yes, IMDb is very good (it is my second home behind Wikipedia, of course!) Thanks again, --rjcuk 10:04, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello, Rjcuk! Yep, my opinion exactly. I also removed the fansites because some of them don't have any original content, and just want to use Wiki for more hits. Also, what do you think about fansites as sources? I'm not sure if those are reliable - because where do they get the info from? Do they have personal contact to Pettyfer? What if information on official site and on a fansite differs? Any opinions on that? Best regards, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 16:51, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello again, Plumcouch! Thanks for your reply. This is becoming an even more interesting discussion here! Hmm, 'fansites as reliable sources of information'. Now that is tricky. I suppose that a fansite could be original research itself - because fansites could be made by anyone (thus promoting opinion). The authors don't have to directly copy everything from the official website, or any other source they use. Therefore you could say they are unreliable. I mean, even the fansite I mentioned which has copies of his blogs on could be false information. The Real McCoy is his actual blog (which is blocked unless Wikipedia gets its own MySpace account and then gets accepted as a friend by Pettyfer... hmm... maybe that's going a bit too far). Anyway, why all this fuss about one little kid? What's even more crazy is that Pettyfer's page was recommended for FA. I mean, seriously! He has a very short acting career. I could understand if a young actor like Daniel Radcliffe got Featured, but not Pettyfer. Not yet.
To conclude: Just as you said - I also agree. Fansites might be more likely to be unreliable - even though they can sometimes be truthful, they may lie. Overall they just might not be a good place to go. Good thinking, Plumcouch. I suppose that the only way to add reliable information is if e.g. the press report on him in the future. Like the CBBC did in the interview. ... Anyway. Thanks again, Plumcouch! You've opened my mind a bit more on the core rules of Wikipedia. I guess I have some more thinking to do... All the best, --rjcuk 11:35, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tattoos

Are his tattoos and the fact he smokes really worth mentioning? It's almost as bad as the frequent additions of rumoured girlfriends. -- Britishagent 08:59, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

The article isn't created to try to make Alex Pettyfer look good, it is created to tell the proven facts, no matter how ugly. ~Bella 14:54, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
