Alex Epstein has written on philosophical topics, such as Just War theory, but he is not a philosopher. Endlessmike 888 00:13, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

I may disagree with everything this man stands for, but he does have a degree in philosophy, and promotes Objectivism in the public eye. I'm curious as to what standard you use to judge one's status as a philosopher. JCSeer 20:15, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
"Philosophy [is the science that] studies the fundamental nature of existence, of man, and of man's relationship to existence." -Ayn Rand "Philosophy: Who Needs It," 2. You'll notice from reading Alex's articles that he tackles issues from a philosophical stand point; judging how man should act based on man's relationship to existence. Also notice that philosophy is a science, thus, there needs to be evidence to support any philosophical claim; such as what constitutes good and evil. Objectivism provides that evidence. Religion, on the other hand, is a primitive philosophy; while it attempts to explain the fundamental nature of existence, of man, and of man's relationshp to existence it does so through faith and not reason/evidence. darnoconrad 11:26, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
