[edit] Infected

Hey, just so you guy's know Alex wasn't on Infected... He was on Martin's fully video pod ast Web Drifter avalible on Revision3. Completely different show I'm afraid.

[edit] Illegal?

I think the site is first of all a joke and I doubt selling anything like this is illegal. While seriously claiming it can help someone medically can be considered illegal. Especially considering the item is simply a piece of jewelry. The pills he is promoting now might be illegal. But the ring really couldnt be illegal. If they are then so are those stupid little magnetic bracelets they used to sell before.

You mean these magnetic bracelets? "U.S. District Judge Morton Denlow ordered QT Inc. of Mount Prospect, Illinois, and its owner, Que Te Park, to refund more than 100,000 buyers of the bracelets -- priced up to $249.95 -- and forfeit profits of $22.6 million earned between 2000 and 2003." --McGeddon 09:21, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Lets all not forget the so called "metal braclets" of the magical Q-Ray company. The braclets are not thing they got nothing ionized my ass. Alex Chiu is atleast smart enough to use the unexplainable power of magnets to dazzle, refresh and rejouvenate body and mind. Are you saying Q-Ray isnt illegal?

[edit] Asian commentary

这小子真是个活宝!

This comment's in chinese. Can anyone translate? 220.240.177.30
It says "This guy is really funny". spencer195 04:37, 5 Nov 2004 (UTC)
What's the one shaped like an arrow? lysdexia 18:51, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I'm assuming you mean 个. That is a measure word pronounced "ge". See Chinese measure word. [[User:Spencer195|]]–spencer195 23:39, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)

However what Alex said are true. i Think he is the man of our time. --60.240.228.54

I respect and believe you! Tyciol 05:26, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

Indeed he is a man to smart to be from our time. Perhaps he use his "magnet magic", which I presumed was identical to the teleportation device he preveously invented. With this so called "magnet magic" he created a time travel device to return to simpler times (ie:this era) to deliver his intellegence to the world to perhaps save the world. Forget "save the cheerleader, save the world" quote, better off "save the people, save the world". Chiu though gone from our The Google lives will forever live on in the hearts and minds.

[edit] Those not receiving the rings

I'd just like to mention that I participated in his program to give out free rings in return for linking people to his website. I got all the links he wanted, but have yet to recieve my rings (although I havn't died yet, so perhaps the immortality worked?) --67.160.74.188

I thought they'd be an interesting novelty item to have. I completed the program and haven't received my rings either. --Daniel Tanevski talk 06:52, 9 January 2006 (UTC)
I got them, when I phoned him (like he says to do if there is difficulty) he was very sorry for the shipping delay, and sent me Neodymium Rings instead of just the basic rings as an apology. Anyway, the free ring program has been discontinued. If you got the required 80 clicks prior to it ending (back in the summer I think) he should still honor it, but you do need to contact him. The ordering system can be screwy. Tyciol 00:48, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I did this a few years ago (2001?) and I got some rings. I have since been immortal. I have not died even once. Dr Ian 00:13, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
This proves it. What more convincing do we need? Then again, I'm already immortal without the rings, if I put them on I should become super-immortal. Can you double not die yet? --Tyciol 07:17, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
If you can "double not-die", I think it means you are ready to take on Chuck Norris - Shanada 10:32, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Chuck Norris can't use the rings. You're only supposed to use them while you sleep. As we know, he doesn't sleep, he waits. Tyciol 05:25, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
Thank goodness, I was worried you wouldn't get the reference :P I wasn't mean CN should wear them, I merely said that if you can double not-die, then you might be prepared to take him on. However, thinking about it, I still don't think you'd stand a chance. I mean, he's Chuck Norris... Shanada 16:57, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
After you avoided death twice, Chuck Norris would still be there. Even if you died in a kamikaze attack, it would be futile. As for him, he would not need to use a kamikaze attack to kill you. Performing roundhouse kick death blows actually HEALS Chuck Norris' HP and Stamina. Tyciol 17:01, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
Amen to that. Shanada 19:55, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Additional benefits

The site also says the device can heal various ailments. Has this worked for anyone? (whoever got the rings)

Well here's a simple guideline that, if followed, will answer all your questions:
If the sites says it, it's not true
 -- Run!  12:41, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
You'd have better luck discussing this subject on his forums. Don't worry about any censorship, I'm a moderator there. As for Run's comment, nah. There are some truthful things there. For example, green tea is delicious, and probably quite good for you. Do you deny it? Tyciol 05:54, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Interview

I can't believe someone tried to delete this page :-) Anyway, there's a fairly humourous audio interview with Mr Chiu here: Google Video

Didn't know if it was appropriate for the article however. Richard W.M. Jones 15:48, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deleted links

These links were deleted from the main page, so I am putting them here as reference material. I do feel that some may be relevant to add back in the future. Tyciol 08:37, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

People have had some time to look at these. Any objections to my putting them back up? Tyciol 05:54, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Something Awful reference, link needed

A user added this:

Someone should get a link for that, if it's not listed above. I'd also like us to look into whether or not he was featured on the Discovery channel, I heard some weird rumour about it. Tyciol 08:42, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Google banning

Does anyone know anything more about why Alex's site was banned from Google's index? Was it connected to him bribing people to link to his site, good old-fashioned link farming, AdSense abuse, or something else? --McGeddon 09:57, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

I think he may be banned from google because of the bottom of this page(http://www.alexchiu.com/eternallife/index.html) has a huge amount of words that are apparently there to screw up Google's hit results. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.73.64.6 (talkcontribs).

Yeah, I just went and had a look...there's a tiny box that you can't see anything in, but if you select all then copy & paste it somewhere, you come up with a huge number of irrelevant terms, like Buffy, Angelina Jolie, satanism and torrent. Deserves to be removed from Google, IMHO Adonai-aus- 06:03, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

In terms of encyclopedic language I don't think using the term 'banned' is as encyclopedic as the site just 'no longer being indexed'. A semantic difference perhaps... Mrbeardy 06:54, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

The article uses "blocked" rather than "banned". Given that Google are very helpful to webmasters when a site drops out of the index for no reason, it seems safe to assume that Google have consciously decided to block Chiu's site. --McGeddon 11:19, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Update( November 30th, 2006): I just got off the phone with Alex and he says that he'd been banninated long before he started link farming, but couldn't explain why he'd done that. --Ministry of truth 02 19:59, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

on a note unrelated to syntax, Alex's official site still doesn't come up in google searches, so i removed the note that it does. --sirveaux 07:12, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] alternative medicine?

to include it in the project first must be proven that one can achieve immortality as claimed. Jclerman 19:15, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

203.184.5.57 10:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)I disagree. Alternative medicine is not provable in the scientific sense. Magnetic/Crystal healing and acupuncture have very little scientific basis and are usually indistinguishable from placebos, but they are known as classic examples of "alternative medicine"203.184.5.57 10:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] gorgeouspil

Ooh, what about his new scam? The GORGEOUSPIL!!!! http://www.incrediblecures.com/eternallife/gorgeouspil.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ahanix1989 (talkcontribs) 20:09, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

It's already mentioned in the article. --McGeddon (talk) 20:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
