Alexis Waite

Alexis Waite, (born October 30, 1981) is an American professional snowboarder based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. She learned to snowboard when she was 12 years old near her hometown of Seattle.

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, Waite learned to snowboard at local Seattle ski areas Alpental and Stevens Pass. She decided she wanted to be a professional snowboarder when she was a teenager, and began pursuing a career through the contest circuit[1].
Waite first gained recognition in snowboarding in 2000, when she won the USASA Eastern Regional Halfpipe competition in Stratton, Vermont[1]. During the 2002/2003 season she was offered a sponsorship as a professional snowboarder and continued to compete, winning the 2003 Vans Triple Crown Jib Contest and the 2003 Summer Windell's Bonfire Triple Rail Jam[1]. She was also a finalist in the 2004 Winter X-Games[1].
She is also considered influential in the snowboard video industry, and had her first video appearance in 2001. Since then, she has been appearing in videos including "White Air" (2005), "As If" (2005) by Misschief films, and "Ro Sham Bo" (2006) also by Misschief[1]. Her snowboarding sponsors include Roxy (clothing), Electric, Boost Mobile, Bakoda, Coal and Northwave.
Waite designed the Santa Cruz Skateboards women's line when she was a member of their team, including the award winning "Muse". She notably broke her eye socket in the 2005 Winter X-Games[1].
