Alexis Ruano Delgado (born August 4, 1985 in Málaga), simply known as Alexis, is a Spanish professional footballer. He plays as a central defender for Valencia CF in La Liga.

Alexis joined Getafe CF from Málaga CF for the 2006-07 season. He had played for Málaga for three seasons and before that for Málaga B. He scored the winning goal for Getafe against Real Madrid, in a 1-0 league win on 14 October 2006, and was part of the best defence that season, conceding only 33 goals in 38 games.

His impressive performances for Getafe attracted some of the world's biggest clubs including AC Milan, Valencia CF, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Valencia won his services and signed him to a deal at the Mestalla that ran until at least 2013, beating off competition from Real Madrid.[1]

Alexis helped Valencia win the 2008 Copa del Rey, scoring the second goal (11th minute) in their 3-1 win over his former club Getafe in the final, after Juan Manuel Mata had scored in the 5th. Veteran Fernando Morientes closed the scoring sheet.
