Alexandru Moşanu

Alexandru Moşanu (born on July 19, 1932 - Branişte, Bălţi County) is a Moldovan politician, historian and professor.

He was the first speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova between 1990 and 1993. He was also one of the co-authors of Moldova's 1991 Declaration of Independence.

Moşanu is the author of over 100 works on the history of Moldova and Romania. His most important contribution as an author is a study on Romanian historiography published in Moscow in 1988. Member of the Romanian Academy. Between 2002 and 2005 Mosanu was the Honorary Chairman of the Social Liberal Party (Moldova).
