Alexandra Federica Guzmán Diamante

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alexandra Federica Guzmán Diamante, most commonly known as Federica Guzmán, is the former Miss Venezuela World 2006 [1].

Guzmán competed as Miss Miranda in Miss Venezuela 2001 (and the preceding Miss World Venezuela 2001) without success. However, the altered schedule of the Miss World 2006 pageant forced the Miss Venezuela Organization to prepare an "emergency pageant" to select a candidate, wherein several former contestants from previous editions of the national contest participated. Guzmán was the undisputed favorite for the national title, causing the usual controversy, but her performance at Miss World broke the failure streak of her country to classify into the semifinals since the participation of Valentina Patruno in 2003.

Once in the pageant, Federica was fast-tracked into the semi-finals after winning the Beach Beauty preliminary competition[2]. She proceeded to compete for the title of Miss World 2006 on the night of September 30, 2006, in the Americas group but failed to make the final cut. The winner of Miss World Americas 2006 title was Miss Brazil.

Federica's successor, Claudia Suárez, was crowned the night of September 14, 2006[3].
