Alexander Scorby

Alexander Scourby (November 13, 1913 – February 22, 1985) was a well-known American radio and TV announcer, as well as an actor in Soap Operas. He is probably most remembered as the narrator for NBC's 1954 "Victory at Sea" documentary series and many filmed Bible stories. Starting in radio series, radio announcing, then television announcing, his distinctive baritone graced several National Geographic productions and other documentary films.
He is credited with well over 100 Talking Books, has tape-recorded the entire King James Bible, and appeared with long-time wife and actress Lori March in the soap opera "Secret Storm". He also recorded the entire Yusuf Ali English translation of the Holy Quran
