Alexander Krasnoshchyokov

Alexander Mikhailovich Krasnoshchyokov (Russian: Александр Михайлович Краснощёков) (real name: Avraam Moiseevich Krasnoshchyok Russian: Абрам Моисеевич Краснощёк in USA known as Tobinson) (born October 10, 1880, Chernobyl - shot November 26, 1937, Moscow) was a Soviet politician and the first Chairman of the Government (Head of the state) of the Far Eastern Republic.
He joined the RSDRP in 1897. After two arrests Alexander Krasnoshchyokov left the Russian Empire for the USA in 1903. He joined the Socialist Labor Party of America and started learning at the University of Chicago at the Law School. In 1912 Alexander Krasnoshchyokov was graduated from the University and started working as a lawyer.

In August 1917 he returned to Russia and joined the Bolsheviks and after the October revolution Alexander Krasnoshchyokov was sent to the Russian Far East to establish Soviet institutions. He was imprisoned by the troops of Admiral Kolchak in Irkutsk on May 1, 1919. In late December 1919 Irkutsk fell under the control of the leftist group (including SRs) and formed the Political Centre. Alexander Krasnoshchyokov was released and headed the Irkutsk Gubkom (regional Bolshevik party committee) of the RKP(b).
He was a member of the DalBureau of the RKP(b) since March 3, 1920. From April 6, 1920 to August 15, 1921 Alexander Krasnoshchyokov was the first Premier Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs (from August 1920 to April 26, 1921) of the newly created Far Eastern Republic. Thanks to his efforts, the Gongota Agreement of 1920 was signed with the Japanese Expeditionary Corps and it allowed the Bolsheviks cleaning up Transbaikal from the troops of Grigory Semyonov.
After his resignation Alexander Krasnoshchyokov worked for the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture. He was arrested on July 16, 1937 and shot on November 26, 1937. He was rehabilitated posthumously in 1956, three years after Stalin's death.
