Alexander King Sample is an American Roman Catholic bishop. He is serving as the twelfth Bishop of the Diocese of Marquette, Michigan. He was born on November 7, 1960 in Kalispell, Montana, to Joyce "Dory" Sample and the late Alex K. Sample. He has two sisters; Marti Sample and Barbara Krieber. Bishop Sample was ordained a priest on June 1, 1990 by Bishop Mark Francis Schmitt. He was appointed Bishop of Marquette by Pope Benedict XVI on December 13, 2005 and was consecrated on January 25, 2006 by Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida.
The Bishop is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
On October 7, 2007, at the invitation of Archbishop Raymond Burke, Bishop Sample attended the Red Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, delivering the homily.
