Alexander Hyde

Alexander Hyde (15981667) was Bishop of Salisbury from 1665 to 1667. He was a fellow of New College, Oxford, where he was made Doctor of Civil Law (DCL) in 1632. Before holding the see of Salisbury, he had served as sub-dean of the same diocese from 1637, and as dean of Winchester from 1660. His daughter, Margaret, was married to the paternal grandfather of Vice Admiral Hyde Parker.
