Alexander Boarman

Alexander 'Aleck' Boarman (10 December 1839-30 August 1916) was appointed District Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana in 1881. He was the first person to hold this judicial seat.[1] The seat was created at this time by President James A. Garfield.

Previous positions

Born in Yazoo City, Mississippi, he studied law at the University of Kentucky, gaining his degree in 1860.[1]

He is buried in the Oakland cemetery of Shreveport, Louisiana, although he died in Franklin County, New York.[2]
