Alexander "Sasha" Artemev (Russian: Александр Артемьев; born Aug 29, 1985) is an American Gymnast. He was born in Minsk, Belarus and is the son of former Soviet all-around Champion Vladimir and Svetlana Artemev. He emigrated to the United States with his parents and became a naturalized citizen in 2002
He earned a bronze medal at the 2006 World Championships on pommel horse, becoming the first U.S. pommel horse medal winner since Kurt Thomas in 1979. He won three titles at the 2006 Visa Championships on all-around, pommel horse and parallel bars. The next year, at the VISA Championships, he won the pommel horse, but finished fourth in the all around, behind champion David Durante, Guillermo Alvarez, and Sho Nakamori.
He currently lives in Morrison, Colorado.
