Alex Wyndham (born 1981 in England) is a British stage, television and film actor, best known for his role as Gaius Cilnius Maecenas in the HBO television series Rome (2007) TV series. [1]

Wyndham has been described as, “sleekly gorgeous, with olive tone skin, brown hair and eyes.” [2] During his studies he did a lot of stage performance, including touring Japan with the Oxford University Drama Society's production of ‘’Love's Labours Lost’’. Amongst his other accomplishments is a black belt (1st Dan) in Shototan Karate. [3] A graduate of Oxford University and of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), Alex Wyndham plays the part of Silvius in Kenneth Branagh's 2006 film of ‘’As You Like It’’. [4] For Alex, who played the lovelorn Sylvius, working on the film was his first job as a professional actor. [5] His other credits include an appearance in T4's girl-band soap ‘’Totally Frank’’ as Ben. [6]

Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors degree in History (Oxon), Oxford University and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in 2005. Wyndham augmented his formal education by completing programs such as: the camera acting course at BBC Elstree; earning the BASSC Certificate 1st class (distinction) armed and unarmed combat; and achieving the level of black belt (1st Dan) Shotokan Karate. He has many skills including period and Flamenco dancing, and sings baritone. His special interests of: county level athletics, movies, travel, guitar, and graphic design fit well with his acting career. Alex’s natural accent is Received Pronunciation (RP) but he has a good ear for accents especially American and London. [7]
