Ektor Alexander Varkatzas (born January 17, 1982 in Orange County, California) is the lead vocalist for metalcore band Atreyu. He is half-Greek and his real first name is "Ektor" (pronounced "Hector"). He and his girlfriend are expecting their first child. He has a large number of tattoos, many of which are based on Japanese and horror movie imagery. He currently lives in Orange County. Varkatzas is a health and fitness fanatic and no longer drinks alcohol.

Varkatzas' appearance has gone through many changes since the release of Suicide Notes And Butterfly Kisses and The Curse; he has slimmed down and stopped dying his hair thus revealing his natural blonde. Most of Atreyu's 2006 album, A Death-Grip on Yesterday, is based on the struggles Varkatzas went through quitting his drinking habit.
