Alex Tobin (born November 3, 1965) is a former Australian football (soccer) player, the most capped player for its national team with 87 'A' appearances including many as captain of the side.

He never played away from Australia and played most of his club career as a defender with Adelaide City FC in the National Soccer League. Tobin left Adelaide City in 2000 after 16 years with the club, then by Parramatta Power at the end of the 2001-02 season and finished his career with Northern Spirit FC. Tobin played 522 games in Australia which some people say will never be repeated again.[citation needed]

He is currently working for the Central Coast Mariners FC as a development officer.
